    After Paris and Singapore, it’s the Algarve’s turn to host one of the world’s most iconic bars.

    This September, Vila Vita Parc welcomes Employees Only — the legendary Manhattan speakeasy that helped shape New York’s craft cocktail renaissance. Since 2004, Employees Only has become a global name in mixology, known for turning every cocktail into an experience, and every service into a show.

    From the heart of Manhattan’s West Village to the sun-drenched coast of the Algarve, this exclusive pop-up brings bold flavours, precise craft, and the unmistakable energy of New York City nights.

    Throughout this exclusive five-day pop-up, two standout talents from the EO team will be behind the bar, serving a curated selection of six signature cocktails and two elevated non-alcoholic blends.

     

    Behind the bar: meet the artisans of the night

    Frank Kurt Maldonado

    Known to many as “Franky Kurt,” Frank Kurt Maldonado is one of the most recognisable and respected figures behind the bar at Employees Only NYC. Originally from Guatemala, his path from Central America to the heart of New York’s cocktail scene is a story of passion, persistence, and a deep reverence for the craft.

    With a cocktail philosophy rooted in creativity and storytelling, Franky blends precise technique with cultural heritage. One of his signature creations, the “‘Chata,” brings together flavours of horchata and chocolate — a tribute to his roots and a reflection of his thoughtful approach to mixology.

    Today, Franky is a global ambassador for Employees Only. He travels the world leading pop-ups and consulting for bars and beverage brands, sharing his craft with authenticity, discipline, and heart.

     

    Kevin Muñiz Bustamante

    Kevin Muñiz Bustamante’s journey is one of quiet determination and undeniable talent. Born in León, Mexico, he arrived in New York with limited English and a deep drive to make his mark. From barback to head bartender, he rose through the ranks of the city’s hospitality scene, helping to shape the cocktail programs of acclaimed spots like Lola Taverna and Sartiano’s before opening his own venue, Gab’s, in the West Village — where his creative vision earned a Michelin nod and a loyal local following.

    Today, Kevin is a proud member of the Employees Only team, where his charisma, technical skill, and instinctive understanding of hospitality have made him a standout. Affectionately known as “Nene” and “Mubu” by his peers, he brings warmth and precision to every pour — and a contagious energy to every room.

    Having represented EO in cities like Athens, Dubai and Lima, Kevin now brings his craft to Portugal for the first time — ready to shake, stir and surprise.
